Privacy Policy

Welcome to Gun Sense for Kids. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of all users, particularly students and educators. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our services.

In general, we avoid collecting identifying information about our users, and we never sell any information about users, nor do we profit from any sort of advertising or data brokering. Unlike most websites, we make money by offering excellent gun safety training for students at the most affordable prices possible, not from data collection shenanigans.

That said, by using our site, you agree to the practices outlined here.

Information We Collect

At Gun Sense for Kids, we strive to collect as little information as possible, and in particular, we are committed to protecting the privacy of students who use our curriculum.

  • No Student Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) about students. We have intentionally designed our system to avoid collecting or storing any data that could identify a student, such as names, email addresses, or other personal details.
  • Usage Data: For schools and organizations, we may collect limited technical information, such as the number of times a course is launched. This data is used strictly for internal analytics and to ensure that subscriptions are managed effectively. It cannot be linked to any individual student.

How We Use Information

  • Subscription Management: We collect data related to subscription launches (e.g., which subscription ID has accessed content) to ensure appropriate use according to our licensing agreements. This information is strictly limited to identifying subscriptions, not individuals.
  • Support & Improvements: Any technical information collected (e.g., basic device information or course launch data) is used to improve our services and resolve technical issues. This data is generalized and cannot identify specific users.

Cookies and Tracking

For the direct launch of our training, the only cookie we need allows students’ progress through the course to be saved so that if they accidentally close the course, they can resume from where they left off. For the public-facing website you’re currently viewing, we don’t use cookies unless you sign in as a site administrator (certain subscription/sponsor types). In all cases, these cookies do not store personally identifiable information and do not contribute to any advertising tracking or other third-party tracking.

Third-Party Services

We do not share any personal information with third parties because we do not collect any such data. Our services are built with privacy as a core principle, particularly in the educational context.

We may use third-party services for hosting or content delivery (such as a Content Delivery Network). However, these third parties have no access to individual data about students or users that could identify them.

Data Security

We are committed to keeping your information safe. We employ a range of security measures to protect the information related to subscription usage and technical details. This includes encryption, secure server locations, and access controls. We do not collect or store sensitive or personally identifiable data.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are specifically designed to ensure student privacy. We do not collect, use, or disclose personal information from children. Students can participate in the training without the need to submit any identifying information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page.
